Factors that Contribute
to Gastroesophageal reflux disease
Dietary and life style choice may give to Gastroesophageal
reflux disease. Certain foods and beverages, including chocolate, peppermint,
fried or fatty foods, coffee, or alcoholic beverages, may cause reflux and
heartburn. Studies show that cigarette smoking relaxes the lower esophageal
sphincter. Obesity and pregnancy can also play a role in Gastroesophageal
reflux disease symptoms.
